Casgliadau Arlein

Pair of gold shoulder cords. Two ply gold gilt wire. Part of a uniform worn by Sir John Arthur Herbert when he was the Governor of Bengal under the British Raj (1939-43). A handwritten note on an envelope containing the cords states that they were worn with a “white uniform”. The envelope features the official seal of the Governor of Bengal.
