Casgliadau Arlein

Dish, soft-paste porcelain, decahedral in shape, standing on a rounded tapering foot-rim, curving spreading sides with the rim slightly flattened, the sides of the well divided into ten panels by slightly incised lines, the ten sides of the rim separated by shallow notches; delicately painted in red, gilt and underglaze blue with a Japanese-style decoration, to the centre of the well a design with a red and blue bamboo hedge in the foreground enclosed by a fence, issuing from this a spreading tree with re, blue and gilt flowers, perched on the tree an exotic long-tailed bird, a similar bird hovers to one side, border to the rim of blue and gilt flowers and foliage.
