Casgliadau Arlein

Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and slightly rounded top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'The Bear Pit' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a zoo setting with a bear climbing up a pole in a round enclosure surrounded by people and beyond an enclosure with lions and a domed enclosure with an ostrich, the scene enclosed by a circular dentilled border. The glaze slightly crazed.
