Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Examining the Nets' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a coastal landscape with sailing boats pulled up on the shore and figures examining fishing nets and lobster pots, the print enclosed by a narrow circular pearl dot border. The glaze crazed.
