Swatches of tweed held in card top which is covered in black and red imitation leather (black = coated fabric, red = paper with textured surface). and has printed inscription in gold. Each fabric has small self-adhesive label on the back with printed swatch numbers; two of these are marked with black biro.
Blue card top has silver/grey rope attachment for hanging (cellulosic core covered with silk? fibre). The rope is fed through 2 copper alloy grommets which are set into the card and probably is held in place with knots on the inside. A small self adhesive paper label is adhered to the top of the card top (in-between the grommets). However, it has yellowed badly and cannot be deciphered (possibly reads '1978' in blue biro).
A woven manufacturer's label has been stapled to the front of the uppermost swatch, (yellow and white inscription on black ground). Part of this has been cut off, however, and is no longer fully legible. Another staple is driven in beside the label, but does not appear to hold anything.
