Casgliadau Arlein

Dress, originally a sack back dress of the 1760s, re-made into fancy dress with train and machine lace trim at neckline, possibly during the 19th century. Later adapted again, with the insertion of a zip fastener. The original fabric is of French silk brocade with a grey ground and overall brocaded pattern of flowers and scrolling leaves in silver grey, red and yellow.
