S.S. LORD BYRON (4118gt). Built 1934 by Lithgows, Port Glasgow, (with engine by D. Rowan & Co, Glasgow) as ARCGOW for Arcgow Shipping Co. (managed by Isherwood Arcform Ships Ltd) London. 1936 - Sold to Norfolk Steamship Co., and renamed LORD BYRON. She was in collision with mv VESTVARD in 1942 while in a wartime convoy – the VESTVARD had been trying to change station. Another collision occurred in 1947 when she hit ss PENCARROW in the North Atlantic during heavy snow squalls. 1950 - renamed BELLATRIX. 1961 - renamed VINCENZO JACOMINO. She was broken up at Split in 1965.
