Of thin fine grey ware, with a warm buff surface, a short sub-cylindrical neck, globular body and a slightly rounded base. The decoration on the inside of the neck consists of two grooves with panels of five or more vertical incised lines below; on the outside of the neck and at the base there are four wide grooves; the body itself has two zones separated by three grooves and containing triangles with fillings of oblique lines; and on the base (which is demarcated from the body by six grooves) there is a cruciform or solar motif of raditaing incised lines. There are a pair of small holes on one side for suspension or attachment. The decoration was originally infilled with red ochre and crushed burnt bone, traces of which still remain in some areas.

Enw'r Safle: Dyfed (formerly Cardiganshire), West Wales
Nodiadau: The exact provenance is unknown, but it is thought to have been found sometime before 1846 near Talsarn in Ceredigion. Between 2009 and 2013 Fan Barrow at Talsarn was excavated by Dyfed Archaeological Trust. A near identical cup was recovered from one of the burials (2015.1H/5).
