Cocket hat (bicorn). Part of a uniform worn by Sir John Arthur Herbert when he was the Governor of Bengal under the British Raj (1939-43).

Black silk plush with grosgrain black ribbon, gold braid and black feathers. One gold button with the British Royal Coat of Arms. Cream silk lining.
