Yn ei draethawd 'Words and Images', a gyhoeddwyd ym 1929, dywedodd y Swrealydd Magritte o wlad Belg fod pob delwedd 'yn awgrymu bod yna ragor y tu ôl iddi.' O edrych arnynt drwy ffrâm ar ffurf afreolaidd, y delweddau sydd yma yw awyr, llen o blwm gyda chlychau sled o'i gwmpas, tu blaen ty^, dalen o ffurfiau papur, coedwig a thân. Mae'r teitl yn creu ofn yr anweladwy, sy'n frith yng ngwaith yr arlunydd ac yn adlewyrchu diddordeb eithriadol y Swrealwyr yn syniad Freud am yr isymwybod.

Dear Sir,
I’m glad that you have had uploaded my comment from 28 December; about “The Empty Mask”, it would be an honour for me that my name appear on top of it in your website.
Sincerely yours,
Juan Francisco Valenzuela Cruzat
I have recently found that this painting is on the front cover of the book “The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell” by Aldous Huxley, do you know if Huxley liked this painting for any particular reason or admired Magritte’s art works?
