Thank you for your comment, there would be copyright issues for any works by a living artist (even up to 70 years after the death of the artist).
I would recommend you contact our Image License Officer [kay.kays@museumwales.ac.uk] with details of the works you require, who will then be able to advise further.

I'm writing up a history of art MA which needs illustrations of art work by living artists such as Ivor Davies, are there copyright issues - where do I seek permissions, and images,? if needed

The Museum has a changing programme of gallery displays which means that some works are not always on view If you would like to view a particular work please contact the department and we will be able to either show you the work in store or let you know when it will next be on display.

Copyright control of an image remains with an artist while they are alive and for 70 years from the date of death. To illustrate a work that is in copyright we have to obtain permission from the holder which is not always possible. We are in the process of asking for permission to illustrate more works and will be adding images to the website as permission is granted.

With this on-line art collection, what does it mean when it says 'work not on display?' Why can't it be shown in the museum? Is it lack of wall space? How would I know when the picture is going to be hung?
Also, why can't images be shown 'for copyright reasons?' What does this mean?
