Hi there
Thank you for your enquiry. Our information is gleaned from our collections records, each of which has been compiled by curators and academics from primary sources. We also use secondary sources such as dictionaries of biographies, exhibition catalogues etc. I will pass on your enquiry to the curator of Applied Art, so we can double check the dates and get back to you - David Evans is a popular name so it might be that more than one worked at the potteries.
I will also ask whether this work is on display. If it is a work in store, you would be very welcome to come and view it - we normally need at least two weeks' notice to get everything ready and to fetch the object from storage.
Thanks again for getting in touch,
Sara
