I see that Linda Hall has written that her Great Grandfather was Alderman Christmas Homes, whereas my Great Grandfather was Alderman Christmas Jones, then of London House, Cefn Mawr.
The names are similar, I would be interested to know more ?

Alderman Christmas Homes was also my Great Grandfather, I have several photos of him,my grandfather was his son Jeremiah and he had a brother John, who I vaguely remember.

I have exactly the same medal which was presented to JOHN JONES, who must have worked at the Wynnstay Colliery. The name is inscribed on the rear face of the medal, which is highly decorated.
The medal has been certified as solid silver and was kept by my family who originate from the Ruabon and Cefn Mawr area.
The medal is in a red leather case which is in very good condition.
My Great Grandfather was Alderman Christmas Jones, who owned several shops in Cefn Mawr, as well as being well known in the area, he came from a mining family, and was almost certainly a close relative of John Jones.
