Amgueddfa Blog: Spring Bulbs

Helo Gyfeillion y Gwanwyn,

Mae nifer o ysgolion wedi cofnodi bod eu Cennin Pedr a Chrocws wedi cychwyn tyfu. Mae rhai ysgolion wedi nodi bod eu planhigion yn edrych yn agos at flodeuo. Fallu, mae'n amser da i drafod rhan nesaf y prosiect - cofnodion blodeuo! Mae adnodd ar y wefan Bylbiau Gwanwyn i Ysgolion o dan y teitl 'cadw cofnodion blodau'. Mae'r ddogfen hon yn dweud wrthych sut i gadw cofnodion blodau, pa offer sydd angen ei ddefnyddio a’r dulliau ar gyfer casglu gwybodaeth.

Oedd y pecyn adnoddau a anfonwyd i'ch ysgol yn fis Hydref yn cynnwys siart blodeuo Crocws a siart blodeuo Cennin Pedr.  Gallwch ddefnyddio'r rhain i gofnodi'r dyddiad mae eich blodau yn agor ac uchder eich planhigion ar y dyddiad hwn. Wedyn, gallwch rannu dyddiad blodeuo ac uchder eich planhigyn ar y dyddiad hwn i wefan Amgueddfa Cymru. Unwaith mae'r diwrnod blodeuo cyntaf wedi ei gofnodi ar gyfer eich ysgol, bydd blodyn yn ymddangos wrth ymyl eich ysgol ar y map ar wefan Amgueddfa Cymru.

Mae rhywfaint o ddryswch wedi bod ynghylch pryd i gofnodi dyddiad blodeuo ar-lein. Gallwch fonitro taldra eich planhigion bob wythnos a gadael i mi wybod yn yr adran ‘sylwadau’ wrth i chi gofnodi’r tywydd. Ond dim ond wedi i’r planhigyn flodeuo y dylech gofnodi ‘dyddiad blodeuo’ a thaldra’r planhigyn ar ddiwrnod blodeuo.

Mae rhywfaint o ddryswch wedi bod ynghylch pryd i gofnodi dyddiad blodeuo ar-lein. Gallwch fonitro taldra eich planhigion bob wythnos a gadael i mi wybod yn yr adran ‘sylwadau’ wrth i chi gofnodi’r tywydd. Ond dim ond wedi i’r planhigyn flodeuo y dylech gofnodi ‘dyddiad blodeuo’ a thaldra’r planhigyn ar ddiwrnod blodeuo.

Edrychwch ar y llun o Gennin Pedr yn Sain Ffagan. Cafodd y llun ei dynnu ar ddiwrnod oer, felly nid oedd y blodau wedi agor yn llawn. Ond, gallwch weld pa rai sydd wedi blodeuo trwy edrych yn ofalus. Os yw’r holl betalau i’w gweld yn glir yna mae’r planhigyn wedi blodeuo. Cyn blodeuo mae’r petalau yn cael eu gwarchod gan gasyn tynn.

Pan fydd y blodyn wedi aeddfedu, a’r tywydd yn ddigon cynnes, bydd y casyn yn dechrau agor. Gall hyn gymryd ychydig oriau neu rai dyddiau! Efallai y gallwch weld hyn yn digwydd, os wnewch chi wylio’r planhigion yn ofalus iawn! Pan fyddwch yn gallu gweld yr holl betalau a’r casyn wedi disgyn gallwch fesur taldra’r blodau a chofnodi hyn ar y wefan. Wedi i chi wneud hynny bydd blodyn yn ymddangos ar fap yn dangos lle mae eich ysgol.

Gallwch fesur uchder eich planhigion i weld pa mor sydyn mae nhw’n tyfu. Os yw’r planhigion yn dal yn fach gallwch eu mesur o dop y pridd. Ond, pan fyddwch yn mesur er mwyn cofnodi ar y wefan, dylech fesur o dop y pot blodau i bwynt uchaf y blodyn.

Ydych chi wedi cymharu uchder y blodau yn eich dosbarth? Oes yna wahaniaeth mawr yn uchder y planhigion a pha mor aeddfed ydyn nhw, neu ydyn nhw i gyd yn debyg? Beth am y planhigion sydd wedi’u plannu yn y ddaear? Yw’r rhain yn fwy na’r rhai mewn potiau? Pam hynny tybed? Gallwch ddweud beth ydych chi’n feddwl yn yr adran ‘sylwadau’ wrth i chi gofnodi’r tywydd yr wythnos hon!

Gyrrwch eich straeon a lluniau i’r blog blodau a dilynwch Athro’r Ardd ar Twitter!

Daliwch ati Gyfeillion y Gwanwyn!

Trellech Primary School: We really enjoyed collecting the data.

Our Lady of Peace Primary School: I can't believe it is nearly over. We are enjoying it.

Auchenlodment Primary School: We have started to measure the shoots and are excited to see how they grow. 2 of the mystery bulbs have just started to sprout. No sign of the daffodils we planted in the ground.

Helo Cyfeillion y Gwanwyn,

Diolch yn fawr i'r rhai ohonoch sef wedi rhannu eich lluniau, rwyf wedi atodi'r rhain ar y dde. Rwy’n hapus i glywed bod rhai o'ch planhigion wedi cychwyn blaguro. Yn fy Blog diwethaf gofynnais a ydych yn credu byddai'r Crocws neu'r Cennin Pedr yn blodeuo’n gyntaf. Nawr rwyf isio gymryd golwg agosach ar y ddau blanhigyn i weld sut fedrwn ni gwybod nhw’n wahân. Rwyf wedi atodi llun o Grocws ifanc a Chennin Pedr ar y dde, mae'r rhain wedi eu labelu yn glir. Beth yw'r gwahaniaethau rhwng y ddau blanhigyn?

A fedrwch ddweud os eich Cennin Pedr, Crocws neu'r ddau syn blaguro? Pa mor dal ydyn nhw? Mae'n ddiddorol i gymharu uchder y ddau blanhigyn ac i sylwi faint y maent yn tyfu bob wythnos.

Gwyliwch eich planhigion yn ofalus fel medrwch gofnodi'r dyddiad mae’r planhigion yn blodeuo, a thaldra eich planhigyn ar y diwrnod. Wedyn, fedrwch rannu’r wybodaeth ar y wefan.  Mae adnodd o'r enw 'Cadw Cofnodion Blodau’ ar dudalen we Prosiect Bylbiau'r Gwanwyn i Ysgolion, o dan 'Adnoddau Addysgu': https://amgueddfa.cymru/bylbiau-gwanwyn/

Adnodd arall fysa’n ddiddorol i ddefnyddio nawr gallwch weld eich bylbiau’n tyfu yw ‘Gwnewch lyfryn origami bach eich hun!’. Mae hyn ar y wefan hefyd, ac mae’n edrych ar gylch bywyd bwlb.

Os ydych yn cwblhau unrhyw weithgaredd oddi ar y wefan, neu yn creu un eich hun yn y dosbarth, plîs rhannwch eich gwaith gyda ni. Mae’n ddiddorol i weld y gwaith da chi’n wneud.

Diolch am rannu eich darlleniadau tywydd. Rwyf wedi ateb rhai o'ch sylwadau yn isod.

Eich sylwadau:

Am dywydd diddorol Gyfeillion y Gwanwyn! Mae nifer ohonoch wedi sylwi ar faint mo cynnes oedd mis Rhagfur, a rhydych yn iawn! Wrth gymharu ein canlyniadau o 2011 i 2016, gallwn weld a Rhagfur 2016 oedd yr ail gynhesach ers dechrau'r prosiect. Ddim ond yn Rhagfur 2015 oedd tymherau yn uwch! Welodd Rhagfur 2016 hefyd y glawiad isaf ers dechrau'r prosiect, ac oriau golau haul gyfartaledd.

Beth am weithio allan eich darlleniadau cyfartal ar gyfer mis Tachwedd a Rhagfyr a chymharu heu’n hefo’r darlleniadau yn y tabl?

Mae nifer ohonoch wedi rhoi gwybod bod eich planhigion wedi cychwyn tyfu! Ydych chi'n meddwl y bydd y Crocws neu’r Cennin Pedr yn ymddangos yn gyntaf? Beth am edrych drwy’r adroddiad llynedd a chymharu'r dyddiau blodeuo ar gyfer y Crocws a’r Cennin Pedr i'ch helpu penderfynu pa un fydd yn tyfu’n gyntaf?

Mae fy mhlanhigion wedi cychwyn tyfu hefyd, rwyf wedi atodi llun. Plîs rhannwch eich lluniau fel bydda’n yn gallu dangos nhw ar fy blog nesaf!

Diolch am yrru newyddion diweddaraf ac adborth ar y prosiect:

St Paul's C.I.W. Primary: Hello Pr.plant we have had a good week one girl who is a rainfall child said she is having a good time but she is sad that after Christmas she is not going to be a rainfall child so can you stop Mr. Wilson from trying to do that thank you for all your help from K and A.

Professor Plant: Hi K and A. I’m glad to hear that you are enjoying the project! Please thank the rainfall child for all her hard work. Hopefully she will have another role taking readings or logging data! If she is really enjoying the project she could always take her own readings at home. The Met Office have a website where people can share readings they’ve taken: http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/ Maybe Mr. Wilson would be able to help her the first few times she enters data!

Coppull Parish Primary School: We had a mini disaster this week. The folder with results in was left out overnight in the rain. Although every page was completely sodden, and the file had to be binned. The relevant information was rescued by a group of y5 children including R, M and L.

Professor Plant: Hi Coppull Parish, I’m sorry to hear you’ve had trouble! I’m glad you managed to rescue your readings, well done all! The term planner and other resources are all available on the website, so you can print out new copies if these were badly damaged: https://museum.wales/spring-bulbs/

Tonyrefail Primary School: We lost the rain gage for Monday Tuesday Wednesday sorry

Professor Plant: Not to worry Tonyrefail Primary, I’m glad it turned up! Thank you for letting me know.

Stanford in the Vale Primary School: Hello,Did you have a nice Christmas? Monday, Tuesday we were all off school so that’s why it said no record. It has been really icy in the mornings. Bye Bye.

Athro'r Ardd

Helo Cyfeillion y Gwanwyn,

Heddiw yw’r diwrnod olaf i gasglu darlleniad tywydd cyn Nadolig! Mae’r rhan fwyaf o ysgolion yn cychwyn ei gwyliau o 16 Rhagfur, ac yn cychwyn yn ôl yn yr ysgol ar y 2 neu’r 3 o Ionawr. Byddwch yn cymryd darlleniad tywydd nesaf yr wythnos o’r 2-6 Ionawr. Wrth gofnodi eich darlleniadau i’r wefan, plîs nodwch ‘’dim cofnod’ ar gyfer y dyddiau rydych i fwrdd o’r ysgol.

Does dim rhaid cymryd eich potiau adra dros y gwyliau. Os yw’r potiau mewn lle saf lle byddant ddim yn cael ei effeithio gan y gwynt, bydda nhw’n iawn. Mae'r pridd yn cadw’r bylbiau yn ddwfn yn erbyn y tywydd oer.

Mae’r tywydd wedi bod yn eithaf cynnes am y gaeaf, a bydd o’n ddiddorol i weld yr effaith mae hyn yn cael ar ein bylbiau! Gwelodd Tachwedd 2016 tymereddau is a llai o law na flwyddyn ddiwethaf, ond llawer mwy o golau haul! Yn Dachwedd 2015 gwelodd y DU 35.6 horiau o haul, cawsom ni 74.6 o oriau blwyddyn yma, mae hwnna dros ddwbl! Oedd y tymheredd yn is, ond ddal yn gynnes am yr amser o’r flwyddyn. Oedd na llai o law, ond ddal digon i helpu ein bylbiau tyfu. Os mae’r patrwm yma yn parhau, efallai fyddwn yn weld ein blodau yn gynharach flwyddyn yma!

Mwynhewch eich gwyliau Cyfeillion y Gwanwyn.

Nadolig Llawen gan

Athro’r Ardd a Bwlb Bychan

Helo Gyfeillion y Gwanwyn,

Diolch i bawb wnaeth yrru data tywydd ata i'r wythnos ddiwethaf. Roedd rhai o sylwadau’r wythnos yma yn dweud bod y tymheredd yn disgyn, sy’n esgus perffaith i mi siarad rhywfaint am y tymhorau!

Mae yna bedwar tymor mewn blwyddyn: gaeaf, gwanwyn, haf a hydref. Mae hi’n dal yn aeaf ar hyn o bryd, y tymor oeraf.

Mae’r gwanwyn yn dechrau o gwmpas Mawrth yr 20fed (Cyhydnos y Gwanwyn) a dyma’r tymor lle bydd y rhan fwyaf o blanhigion yn blodeuo ac anifeiliaid bach yn cael eu geni wrth i’r tywydd gynhesu. Mae ŵyn bach yn y caeau yn arwydd da bod y gwanwyn wedi cyrraedd!

O fis Mehefin tan fis Medi bydd hi’n haf – y dyddiau’n hir a’r tywydd yn gynnes. Yn lwcus i chi, byddwch yn cael gwyliau hir o’r ysgol!

Bydd yr hydref yn gafael o ddiwedd Medi ymlaen – y dyddiau yn byrhau, y tywydd yn oeri, a’r dail yn troi’n oren, coch a brown cyn syrthio o’r coed. Daw’r gaeaf unwaith eto ym mis Rhagfyr a bydd yn aros efo ni tan ganol Mawrth.

Ydych chi’n gwybod pam ein bod yn cael tymhorau? Beth sy’n achosi i’r tywydd newid mor ddramatig yn ystod y flwyddyn? Mae’n digwydd achos bod y Ddaear yn troi o amgylch yr Haul ar ongl. Mae’r llun isod yn dangos y Ddaear a’r Haul. Mae’r Ddaear yn cylchdroi ar echel (dychmygwch linell yn cysylltu Pegwn y Gogledd â Phegwn y De) wrth symud o amgylch yr Haul.

Mae’n cymryd 365 diwrnod i’r Ddaear deithio unwaith o amgylch yr Haul. Hyd blwyddyn ar blaned yw’r amser mae’n gymryd i deithio o amgylch ei seren unwaith. Felly mae blwyddyn ar y Ddaear yn para 365 diwrnod.

Mae’r llun uchod yn dangos llwybr y Ddaear o amgylch yr Haul. Yr echel yw’r llinell wen trwy’r ddau begwn. Mae’r echel ar ongl wahanol i lwybr y Ddaear o amgylch yr Haul (y llinell wen doredig). Mae hyn yn golygu ein bod ar ongl fymryn yn wahanol i’r Haul bob dydd. Dyma sy’n achosi’r newid yn hyd y dydd. Mae dyddiau byrrach (gaeaf) yn golygu llai o olau a llai o wres, sy’n gwneud y gaeaf yn oerach. Mae dyddiau hirach (haf) yn golygu mwy o olau a gwres, sy’n ei gwneud yn gynhesach!

Mae’r DU yn ‘Hemisffer y Gogledd’ sy’n golygu ein bod yn nes at Begwn y Gogledd nag at Begwn y De. Yn y llun, mae Pegwn y Gogledd (y llinell wen sy’n pwyntio am i fyny) yn gwyro i gyfeiriad yr Haul ym mis Mehefin ac oddi wrth yr Haul ym mis Rhagfyr. Yr ongl hon sy’n achosi’r newid yn hyd y dyddiau wrth i’r Ddaear droi o amgylch yr Haul.

Mae gwledydd eraill yn profi’r newidiadau hyn ar wahanol adegau. Yn Awstralia mae’n haf ym mis Rhagfyr! Ac yng Ngwlad yr Iâ mae’n olau dydd am ddyddiau ar y tro yn yr haf, ac yn dywyll am ddyddiau yn y gaeaf... dychmygwch yr haul yn tywynnu am hanner nos!

Daliwch ati Gyfeillion y Gwanwyn,

Athro’r Ardd

Eich sylwadau:

Stanford in the Vale Primary School: Hello, This week it has been very frosty and cold. In the mornings it has been frosty but got warmer at lunch times.

Ysgol Bro Ogwr: Mae'r tymheredd yn newid yn y prynhawn.

Hudson Road Primary School: It has been quite warm during the afternoons this week with bright sunshine.

Ysgol Glanyfferi: The temperature is getting colder as it's getting further into the winter.

Hudson Road Primary School: It has been really cold towards the end of the week, with very frosty mornings but it has warmed up through the day.

Betws Primary School: An extremely wet start to the week! The temperature is beginning to dip and winter is most certainly coming...

Stane Primary School: It's getting colder and colder every day! Get your hat, scarf and gloves on. Professor Plant: Great advice Stane Primary, make sure you stay warm!

Arkholme CE Primary School: We have had some frosty nights and most of the leaves have fallen off the trees. No change what so ever with the bulbs. Have a good day.

Broad Haven Primary School: Everything was frozen every morning this week. Frost and ice. The birds are hungry they are eating the sunflower seeds of the sunflowers we grew in the summer.

Hudson Road Primary School: Friday was a lovely warm afternoon and we did lots of garden maintenance getting ready for the winter and filled our bird feeders so they will have food in the cold winter days. Professor Plant: That’s lovely Hudson Road Primary. Well done for looking after wildlife in your garden.

Darran Park Primary: Despite the sunny weather, the temperature has been quite cold but not freezing Also the temperature has been quite consistent but it dropped a little bit on Friday. As well, to start the week off is has been raining, nevertheless, the rest of the week has been dry.

Carnbroe Primary School: The weather was dry but cold and damp this week. Although it didn't rain the soil in our plant pots was damp. Professor Plant: Hi Carnbroe Primary, well done for checking whether your plants needed watering. It’s likely that dew or frost has been forming on top of the soil this will be why the soil is damp even though it hasn’t rained.

Bacup Thorn Primary School: We had a lot of snow Thursday night into Friday. Heavy snow throughout Friday making a wet but enjoyable time at break. We had some very large snow flakes falling.

Bacup Thorn Primary School: A cold start to the week, ending with an extremely wet day!

Darran Park Primary: The temperature has dropped and the rainfall has raised.

Ysgol Rhys Prichard: No rain in the week. Hotter on Monday than Thursday.

Auchenlodment Primary School: There is no record for Wednesday as we were off school for St Andrew's Day. Professor Plant: Hi Auchenlodment Primary, thank you for letting me know. A number of other schools let me know that it was St Andrew’s day as well.

Ysgol Pennant: Diolch am y Worm World! Dwin edrych ymlaen am y bylbiau i agor. Diolch am y bylbiau dwin hoffi cadw golwg ar y potiau. Professor Plant: Helo Ysgol Pennant, diolch am eich gwaith called ac am anfon lluniau! Cadwch ati gyda'r gwaith caled Gyfeillion y Gwanwyn!

Rougemont Junior School: Flowers are starting to sprout. Professor Plant: Wow Rougemont, that’s great news! A few other schools have said that their plants are sprouting, it’s earlier than last year so it will be interesting to compare the results!
